19 Apr Triber of the week – Temitope Akinwunmi
Hi, can we meet you?
My name is Temitope Akinwunmi. I am currently a Customer Success Associate at GoMoney in Lagos State, Nigeria.
We are excited to have you, Temitope. Can you tell us one quote that inspires you?
Be You, Do You, You matter – Temitope, 2021
Inspiring, I love that. We would like to know about your data journey. Can you tell us about it?
Well, I am currently looking into transitioning into Data Analytics. I have started taking courses on Udemy and joined the community to help broaden my horizon.
That is a bold step you have taken. So what inspired your data journey?
As a Customer Success Personnel who loved to solve problems, there were a lot of opportunities I identified and couldn’t analyse nor go far with, simply because I lacked the skills required. I have decided to start with data analysis to easily navigate business data, identify opportunities and translate them to the concerned parties.
Thank you for sharing. Let’s get to know you a little better, what is your favourite TV show of all time?
I love Suits
Nice! Can you share three people who inspire you in any industry and why?
- Voila Davis – I like her commanding presence and personality, especially in the movie “How to get away with Murder”. She advocates for and portrays the power of a black woman even in her films.
- Smart Money Woman, Arese Ugwu – Her book is one of its kind, her vast knowledge in finance management has helped me make better financial decisions. I am a feminist. I just love women being the best in all fields.
- Jide Fowotade (Full Stack Developer) – He isn’t a famous person, but he has built amazing products, is very dedicated to his work, and always craves excellence. I admire these traits, and they keep me going in my job function.
- Simileoluwa Afolabi-Jombo (The SQL Babe) is also a big inspiration in my Data Analysis Journey.
Aww, it’s so sweet that you included our founder. Would you like to tell us the one thing you’re looking forward to achieving soon?
Honestly, my goal for Q2 is to have intermediate skills in SQL and Excel. And by the end of the Q3, barge a certification in Data Analysis as a professional.
We look forward to helping you achieve those goals. One more question before we wrap this up, tell us your favourite thing about the SQLTribe community and how it has inspired your data journey?
My favourite thing about the tribe is the daily questions asked, as they help me look forward to my learning process. Likewise, the interview questions and portfolio-building projects for when I start searching for an analyst role.
Thank you! We’re glad to be of help. Would you like to share anything else with us?
Yes, please. I like that the questions are personal. I also admire that you want to get to know us. That alone keeps me in this community forever.
