Triber of the week – Adewunmi Karunwi

Hi, can we meet you?

My name is Adewunmi Karunwi. I am a HR Generalist and Travel Consultant.

It is nice to have you, Adewunmi. Can you tell us one quote that inspires you?

Thank you for having me here. I would say ‘Politics is the madness of the many but the benefit of the few!’. 

Wow, that hits deep! So Adewunmi, we would like to know about your SQL  journey. Please tell us about it.

Okay, sure. I started my data journey in October 2021. I started learning SQL in December, but I didn’t get it.  I moved on with PowerBi but recently got back into SQL with DataCamp in June. It’s been a fun experience so far, with at least a project currently ongoing. 

I am happy you are enjoying the process. So what inspired you to learn SQL?

I have always had an interest in data analytics. SQL is part of the requisite skill-set needed to become a Data Analyst. So I had to learn it. 

Yes, that’s true. We would like to know you a little bit better. Can you tell us your favourite TV show of all time?

Oh, oh, I love Suits & Billions.

Interesting, you are a drama fan. Adewunmi, we would love to know about three people who inspire you in any industry and why?

• Saul Canelo Alvarez (Boxer): He made his way to become a bonafide PPV star, even as a free agent.
• Jay-Z: I am really inspired by how he was able to build a business empire starting from music. Forever a fan
• Joshua Selman: He is a great minister of faith

 You’re welcome. I am a big sports fan. I watch boxing and football mostly.

Fascinating. It’s nice to know that part of you. Would you like to tell us the one thing you’re looking forward to achieving soon? 

Honestly, I am looking forward to getting an MBA soon.

Honestly, I haven’t been active. But I think it is a viable support system for data practitioners and beginners.
